Postion - Editorial Internships

Qualifications Internships are for graduate and undergraduate students. Students who are eligible to receive academic credit must do so. If unable to receive college credit then a letter indicating university support from an accredited educational institution must be submitted. All internships are unpaid and located at our New York City headquarters. A minimum of two days a week is required by all students. The ideal candidate is majoring in Journalism, Magazine or Newspaper Publishing, English, Writing or Communications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is required; familiarity with Outlook and Quark is preferred. Previous experience at a newspaper or magazine is a plus. Position description Editorial/Reporting Internships Fairchild offers exciting internship opportunities in several of our editorial departments throughout the spring, summer and semesters. We are seeking responsible, proactive and motivated students who are eager to learn and make a meaningful contribution. Our interns will participate in a variety of projects, which may include: • Investigating leads and writing articles • Fact-checking and proofreading copy • Assisting Editors on special projects • Presenting extensive research and data • Responding to consumer inquiries • Conducting and transcribing interviews • Liaising with design and production departments • Attending departmental meetings and events • Completing administrative tasks and projects
