Postion - Publicity Internship

Assist Publicity Coordinator in daily office activities Escort Time Out New York editors to their media interviews when needed Assist publicity coordinator with obtaining in-studio guests and visual elements for weekly television segments as well as keeping a publicity file of all articles and mentions of TONY and TONY Kids Write publicity reports and press materials Research on Lexis Nexis, Bacons Mediasource, online, and database updates Attend promotional movie ticket giveaways and screenings when needed Assist Publicity Coordinator with all press events Assist Publicity Coordinator on weekly follow up to the media (includes follow up phone calls and emails) Process invoices for editorial interviews Staff all TONY sponsored events including subscriber events when needed Exposure within a fast-paced weekly magazine and television atmosphere. This position requires excellent organizational skills and willingness to learn about the magazine and television industry. The successful candidate should be flexible (some late nights and early mornings required for events and media) computer savvy (Mac and Quark knowledge a plus), excellent phone manner and writing skills, detail-oriented, mature, professional, courteous, able to juggle numerous projects and interviews as they arise. Student must receive academic credit or the equivalent for the internship. Internship begins in August and extends throughout Fall Semester.
