Postion - Merchandising Internship

Internship Description Merchandising Dept. Summary of responsibilities: The intern will work closely with the assistant buyer and gain exposure to daily responsibilities. Planned learning activities include: · Analyze sales by recapping style performance for individual collections on a weekly basis and evaluating store performance on a monthly basis. Analyze item sales for all aspects of the business including future opportunities. · Train and utilize AS 400 retail system. · Assist in buy preparation for upcoming market. · Maximize sales through consolidation merchandise · Observe how new merchandise is channeled through the distribution center and alert the stores of new shipments · Assist in the preparations for a manager’s meeting · Sketchbooks Our main objective is to expose the intern to the operations of a buying office at a direct owned designer store. The intern will utilize and further develop analyzing and merchandising skills. The majority of sales analysis will require the use of Excel Software. Proficiency in Excel is mandatory. The intern will be trained on the Gucci Retail System. Gucci does not offer any financial compensation for this internship.
