Postion - Fashion Business Internships

Job Description As an intern at the corporate office for Balenciaga America, you will have the opportunity to learn from and participate in many levels of the fashion industry. As the North American headquarters, we oversee all commercial clients in the U.S. and Canada. We are represented by many of the most exclusive and respected retail stores in the world. We have approximately 35 clients throughout our region, ranging from large designer department stores to small select boutiques. We also recently opened our first retail store location in the Chelsea gallery district of New York. Balenciaga is designed in Paris where our chief offices reside. As a member of the Gucci Group, Balenciaga is made by the finest tailors in Italy and distributed through our factory in Switzerland. Because we have operations in several countries, you will have the opportunity to communicate, learn, and participate in several aspects of international business. This will include accounting with foreign currency, international shipping and receiving, and import/export documentation and processing. You will also have the opportunity to witness the development, sale, and distribution of designer luxury goods. Before you begin your internship, the design office will be working on the collection for (Fall/Winter, Spring/Summer). After the samples are made, the collection eventually travels to our office for a commercial sales market which will happen sometime in (February/ July).You will be assisting in coordinating market scheduling and planning, casting models, processing client orders, and sending the collection back to Paris. You will also be helping with our press relations when needed, and general office tasks. At the same time of market, we will be shipping our current season of (Fall/ Winter, or Spring/Summer). You will be helping us maintain close contact with our clients to ensure that deliveries are on time and correct. This includes our retail store, however the process is somewhat different so you will see and understand the different roles within a company. As a regular office attendant, you will also be helping us with our most important role, customer service.
